Hod's Message

It is my pleasure to welcome you to the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at Vignan’s Lara Institute of Technology and Science (VLITS) Vadlamudi, Guntur District, Andhra Pradesh, India. Our life would be unthinkable and looks dark, without the use of electrical energy in the present scenario of life style. The enormous growth in utilization of the electrical energy is a decisive prerequisite for a rapid development of industry and agriculture. And also the per capita electrical power consumption of the country is a factor which indicates the country’s development. This department aims to train the students by imparting the knowledge of Electrical subjects, Electronics and other allied areas such as computer science and artificial techniques etc. Thereby the student can be able to compete for prospective jobs and higher studies.

The department offers academic programs such as B.Tech (Electrical & Electronics Engineering) and M.Tech (Power Electronics and Electrical Drives). The curriculum will be enriched on regular intervals by Board of Studies members drawn from International and National level reputed academic, research and industrial organizations. This helps the student to acquire latest knowledge in the electrical engineering.

The department is supported by well qualified and experienced faculty with a rich and varied teaching and research exposure. Many of them are recruited from standard Indian Institutions like IITs and NITs. Most of the faculty members published and presented papers in the reputed National and International Journals and Conferences. Electrical Engineers have great opportunities for employment in the state and central electricity boards like APGENCO, APTRANSCO, and manufacturing industries like BHEL, Kirloskar etc., and also power sector organizations like NTPC, NHPC and Power Grid etc. And the electrical students can attain high administrative positions in the Railways, State and Central Governments through IES, IAS and GATE etc.
